VRIJPLAATS/RESISTOR
Vrijplaats is a building at Middelstegracht that houses a bunch of initiatives. A weekly vegan people’s kitchen, a bar for people to gather and have inspiring conversations, but also a stage for acts to perform. One of the locations we worked with from the beginning.
ROEM
ROEM Foundation is an artist collective made up of young makers from various disciplines, including photography, writing, visual arts, graphic design, and illustration. This group of makers is working together in Leiden to build their future as professional artists. Personal development and growth are the main goals. At the same time, they collectively pursue the core mission of the ROEM Foundation: to underline the importance of art in our society.
THEATER DE GENERATOR
As Leiden’s premier small venue and the only theater in the Netherlands fully dedicated to socially engaged theater, we create and program work that contributes to a more just and inclusive society. We use professional theater as a tool for social change, with an emphasis on solidarity, empowerment, and safety for marginalized groups.
De Generator is a stage where creators, audiences, and society meet, and where there is room for the development, experimentation, and renewal of the theater form.
